After returning from Brazil, I found myself paying closer attention to the fauna — especially to animals facing extinction.
Growing up in Manaus, I was always surrounded by macaws, and the blue macaw has fascinated me since childhood for its beauty and rarity. On my last visit, I realized how few of them I see now — and that feels deeply sad.

Beyond the macaws, so many other Brazilian species are disappearing, some perhaps forever.
The textures, shapes, and colors of these birds’ feathers became the spark for my new painting series, “PLUMAGE.”
Yet, this series isn’t really about birds — it’s about our vibrant fauna, its uniqueness, and the urgency of remembering it.

Through textures, forms, and my signature blue and orange, I want to evoke the beauty of what must not be forgotten.
