Here, I invite you to join me on a journey through the lights that inspire me and the reflections that guide my path.
Paris was the starting point of this series, a city where the night lights, from bars to storefronts, tell stories and illuminate paths, even in the darkest hours. I grew up in Manaus, the “Paris of the Tropics,” where light also shapes the city, guiding our steps and offering beauty. With this connection in mind, I began capturing the neon lights of the cities I passed through, experimenting with light painting and adding my own colors – blue and orange – to these scenes.
For me, CITY OF LIGHT is a reflection on our inner light and the beauty of finding it amidst darkness. It’s about seeing the simple glow of a street sign or a light leading the way, and recognizing a spark of hope and clarity. Each image is an invitation to explore the beauty of the fleeting and the enduring – the light that guides us and the one we carry within.
